Another Thriller With Jack Reacher
This 2010 novel by Lee Child is set in South Dakota. Reacher may be in the right place to safe a witness.
Coventry born writer Lee Child once again proves that he is an expert in producing a thrilling tale in the continuing adventures of Jack Reacher. Reacher is a former Military Police officer that never seems to be too far away from trouble.
The tale begins with a lawyer that goes to visit a client in a relatively new federal prison. Driving back from the interview he skids on an icey bridge, which in turn leads to a bus driver losing control of a tourist bus headed for Mount Rushmore.
The mearest town to the accident is Bolton, once the local Police find out who Reacher is then they believe he could help them. They need to protect a local elderly woman who witnessed a murder and whose testonomy could crack a major drug ring.
The Police are certain that a cartel leader in Mexico dubbed Plato has ordered the death of the witness. There are enough officers to protect as long as there is not a riot at the prison when they will have to go. Reacher accepts the task of protecting the witness yet soon suspects that the killer cannot be stopped.
A thrilling story all the way through to it's climax, exactly what Child is famed for providing throughout the series.
