Let’s talk to the Lord, He hears us
Don’t Be Afraid To Talk To The Lord
God is the one who always gives to us first. His Son Jesus offers us rest. He will give us the bread of life and will give himself as our friend. Let us allow ourselves to be conquered by the love of the Lord who is forming us even more than we can imagine.
Let us ask our generous and merciful God to forgive us of the things that we do not recall doing. Let us ask Him to touch our hearts so that we are not overcome by troubles. Let us not tremble with fear when we should be strong with the love and will of the Lord. Let us ask the Lord to send His Spirit to teach us so we will abandon the ways of wickedness and make way for goodness to fill us. Let us ask for help to clear our thoughts from impurity and our hearts. Purify us so we can shine the light that is inside of us.
Let us beg the Lord to take away the guilt that weighs heavy on our hearts, to take our burdens, our yoke. For the crimes which we’ve voiced and those which are deep within our subconscious, let us ask the Lord to pardon them. In our weakness, let us ask for strength so we can find peace.
When we pray we are not to focus on how many words we say or how often we repeat some words. Prayer is not reciting formulas. It is about our inner attitude of faith and love of God. Don’t be concerned with talking too much when praying instead concentrate on surrendering our lives into God’s loving hands. We are God’s manifestation in the universe and one important thing we are to do is to forgive. We are not doing anyone a favour when we forgive, nor should we look for any credit when we do. Forgiveness actually free ourselves from whatever is poisoning us. To help us enter into the mindset and spirit of forgiveness, we can do a spiritual fast. If we fast just to get human approval, we are acting unworthy and just to get the approval of humans. A spiritual fast is addressed to God, not to the opinion of the public. It focuses on our inner disposition of conversion and sorrow for personal sin on our part. It helps us to mold our generosity and rid ourselves of whatever meanness engulfs us. It helps us to reject false gods and their unhappiness and lack of security. We do not get caught up in hype for richness, neglect our personal growth or family.
Let us ask God to teach us to forgive so we can be more like Him. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to put words of wisdom in our mouth, to give us voice so we can speak truth and understanding. Let us ask for the strength to withstand any hurdle that may come our way. Let us call on God’s name for we need Him to live as He wants us to live, and be in peace and to forgive wholeheartedly.
