Reading destroys ignorance and is the road which leads to achievement. Plutarch said, “The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be ignited.”

We must learn everything we can and think for ourselves. This may involve risks but it is worth every bit to give our best. When we allow ourselves to be hinder by negativity, hurts or mistreatments, we are building ourselves into negative thinkers. Eleanor Roosevelt said that, “no one can make us feel inferior without our permission.” No matter if we live in rough, unstable, gang infested neighbourhoods, we can still make it out the best ever. We must remember that it is not where we come from that matter, but where we are going is what counts.

When we commit ourselves in giving our best we will be sure to come out on top. “Knowledge is power, “says Francis Bacon.

It enriches life, makes us better people and broadens our grasp on the world and everything around us. Knowledge unlocks all doors as it is the most important key to have. Every day we should exercise our brain by consciously retaining information. This also helps the brain to work more effectively. When we increase our knowledge and use it for the good of humanity, we are making a difference in ourselves and in the world. Aldous Huxley remind us that, “every man who knows how to read has it in his power to magnify himself, to multiply the ways in which he exists, to make his life full, significant and interesting.” By reading we are activating and exercising our minds. We are being pushed to use our imagination and creativity.

Those of us who are reputable members of society, who have high visibility and are great influencers, are responsible to aid in the improvement of society. We must develop in depth knowledge which will enable us to give our best for the making of a better world. Where we come from does not matter. We must recognize our abilities, be willing to learn and to use what we know to help others. This will allow us a place in society.

We do not have to be burden down by the circumstances of our society. We can reach beyond ourselves and give our best. We surely will not lose. As long as we are alive we are able to grow. For our lives to be successful with inner peace and contentment, then we have to work for it. If we want to transform the world we have to start with elevating our thinking.
